Email Principles

These principles govern website replies and operational email sent by AdaptedED products through the shared Notifications service.

Last updated August 4, 2026

When email is appropriate

AdaptedED may reply when someone contacts us directly. Product email supports requested actions such as verification, invitations, password resets, security notices, and school-authorized notifications. We do not intend to buy, rent, scrape, or sell recipient lists or send unsolicited bulk marketing.

Recipient relationship

A message should trace to a direct inquiry, requested account action, existing account, or documented school-managed relationship. A publicly available address alone is not an appropriate reason to send product email.

Verification and preferences

Staff-entered addresses should receive only a justified invitation or verification message until the intended recipient or an approved school record establishes the relationship. Product workflows should respect message-specific preferences and provide a practical way to correct or stop optional email.

Delivery problems

A production email system should stop sending to addresses associated with a hard bounce or spam complaint, record delivery outcomes, limit retries, and require review before an address is reactivated.

Minimum necessary content

Email should act as a notification channel rather than a student-record transport. Sensitive details should remain behind appropriate product access controls whenever a neutral notification and secure link will work.

Report an unwanted message

If you receive an unexpected AdaptedED website reply or test message, forward its details to [email protected]. Include the recipient address and message date when possible so we can investigate and stop further messages where appropriate.
